A Dynamic Business Alliance
The Wayne County Chamber serves the economic interests of the region. The Chamber is the largest volunteer- membership driven organization of businesses in Wayne County. The Chamber's annual program of work details the organization's action to accomplish its goals.

The Chamber’s vigorous program of work is carried out by several committees made up of volunteers from the Chamber membership. Committee involvement is a great way to develop business relationships with others in the Chamber and to impact the economic well-being of the community as well as your business. Here are some of the committees you can become involved with and the committee chairs to contact:
  • NETWORKING EVENTS
    Business After-Hours presented by NeSmith Chevrolet
    Network at Business After-Hours to increase sales and build awareness for your business! Business After-Hours is Wayne County’s premier networking event. It is a great opportunity to meet new clients/customers and promote your business. Business After-Hours are held from 5 to 7pm on the 3rd Thursday of the Month alternating with Coffee Card Exchanges. There is no charge for members to attend. Potential members can attend for $10. 

    BAH Host Commitment Form

    Coffee Card Exchange presented by Troyer's Specialty Fencing
    These morning networking events allow members to promote their business and increase their customer base. Exchange business cards with potential customers over a cup of coffee. Coffee Card Exchanges are held from 8:30 to 9:30 am on the 3rd Thursday of the Month alternating with Business After Hours. There is no charge for members to attend. Potential members can attend for $5. 

    CCE Host Commitment Form

    Coastal Pines Technical College Chamber Business Series 
    The Chamber Business Series is a luncheon series providing "ready to use" techniques to make your business stronger. These interactive sessions provide valuable information that can be used by you and your business immediately. Topics have included Customer Service, Budgeting, Hiring & Firing Practices, Marketing Business Manners Worker’s Compensation, and more.

    Cost is $20.00 for Chamber Members and $30 for non-members. Chamber Members have an opportunity to sponsor a Lunch & Learn for $250.

    Quarterly Membership Luncheons presented by Rayonier Advanced Materials 
    The luncheon is designed to offer members an opportunity for increased networking, another avenue to promote their businesses, learn more about the Chamber, meet new members, and be motivated to take a more active role in the community. Chamber members are encouraged to attend and non-members are welcome, too. Members will pay $25 and non-members $35 per person. Tables of eight can be reserved and sponsorships are available.

    Ribbon Cutting, Grand Opening, Groundbreaking, Open House, Events
    Ribbon Cutting, Grand Opening, Groundbreaking and Open House ceremonies are a fantastic way to introduce or re-acquaint your business to the community and attract new customers. The Chamber of Commerce can help by promoting your event to Chamber membership and the local media. To ensure the most promotion of your event – let the Chamber help!

  • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
    Chamber Business Series
    Conducts quarterly programs with relevant topics that support business owners and employees. 

    Industry Roundtable
    Coordinates with the Economic Development Authority to enhance communications with and between existing industries to learn more about their successes, problems and concerns.

    Agri-Business Committee 
    Highlights agriculture and its economic impact on our community.

    Young Professionals Network
    The program aims to energize, engage, and empower future leaders between the ages of 21 and 45 and actively shape the future of our community. 

    Mini Trade Fair
    Host local business trade fair to promote member businesses. 

    Manufacturing Appreciation Week 
    Support Coastal Pines Technical College by nominating local manufacturer for the Georgia "Manufacturer of the Year." 
     
  • COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
    Leadership Wayne
    Provides a unique opportunity for leaders in the community to learn about their local community and develop leadership skills.

    Shop Local Committee 
    To help sustain Wayne County businesses and stimulate sales tax revenues by encouraging the community to “Shop Local.”

    Support Community Events
    Provide support and promotion for community events, concerts and programs hosted by the Wayne County Board of Tourism and Jesup Downtown Development Authority. 
  • EDUCATION
    Wayne County High School Student Chamber
    Provides unique opportunity for high school students to learn about the roles and function of the Chamber and Board development process while learning about their local community and developing leadership skills.


    Teacher Appreciation
    Show appreciation to teachers twice yearly through providing special “treats” for our local teachers.


    Business Back Education Newsletter
    Publish a Quarterly education newsletter to Chamber membership including school news and student spotlights.


    PAGE STAR Student and Teacher Recognition
    Recognize local academic achievement through the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program with STAR Student and STAR Teacher of the Year.


    Wayne County School System Programs
    Support programs within the Wayne County School System to include: Jr. Achievement & Entrepreneurship, Partners in Education, REACH, and Wayne County Athletics.
  • GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
    Legislative Advocacy  
    Advocates for legislative action that represents the interests of the business community and Wayne County.

    Election Forums/Debates 
    Plans and coordinates a forum for candidates to report and debate local, state and national issues.

    Day for Wayne
    Support Day for Wayne, hosted by the Board of Tourism. Normally held on the first Thursday in November and allows invited guests to learn more about Wayne County. 

    Eggs & Issues
    Plans and coordinates an annual event for Wayne County’s legislative delegation to report on issues prior to the General Assembly. Plans and coordinates a delegation for the Georgia Chamber Eggs and Issues. 

    Okefenokee Occasion
    Coordinates Wayne County’s participation in this multi-county legislative event held in Atlanta during the Georgia General Assembly.

    Post Legislative Luncheon 
    Coordinates a post-legislative luncheon after the General Assembly for Wayne County’s state legislative delegation to report on progress/issues during the General Assembly.

    GA Chamber of Commerce/GACCE Events
    Coordinates Wayne County’s participation in the GA Chamber’s and GACCE’s legislative events.
  • MEMBERSHIP SERVICES
    Recruitment & Retention
    Coordinates and implements programs that will ensure member recruitment.

    Quarterly Membership Luncheon 
    Organizes quarterly membership luncheons State of Education, State of Health, and State of the County. 

    Networking/Business After Hours and Coffee Card Exchange
    Coordinates and promotes Business After Hours and Coffee Card Exchange networking events for members.

    Ambassadors 
    Maintains a minimum of 10 ambassadors to make personal visits to Chamber members to encourage participation and to reach out to prospective members. Ambassadors act as the key liason to member businesseses by motivating, educating, and communicating with members. 

    Business of the Quarter
    This program recognizes outstanding achievement to “for profit and non-profit” organizations in our community. This award is presented to a Chamber member business that does extremely well in the area of community involvement, economic growth, customer service and/or professional relationships. Companies can be nominated by any Chamber member, business and/or companies may nominate themselves. This award is available only to Chamber members. Nominate a Business for Business of the Quarter
    Chairman’s Club Appreciation
    Hosts an annual appreciation dinner for Chairman's Club level members. 

    Membership Appreciation
    Plans and coordinates an annual membership appreciation "cook out." 
  • EVENTS
    Christmas Parade
    Coordinates the annual Christmas Parade to promote pride in the community and draw shoppers into downtown.

    Taste of Wayne Gala 
    Plans and conducts the Taste of Wayne Gala.

    Legacy Dinner 
    Plans and organizes the Annual Legacy Dinner which recognizes Chamber leadership from the past and the present.
